This is an old article I came across via fb. What took me aback reading this article was the fact that the Author- Jimmy Carter rescinded his position in his church to stand for equality, criticizing religion as an outmoded accessory responsible for today’s gender imbalance.

Courageous doesn’t do justice to the gallant act, but do I dare say Jimmy Carter became Jimmy Carter because of his Church’s political influence in the 1970’s: projected as a righteous savior to cleanse the country from the “unholy” mess of Nixon, it is interesting to me how he calls them out. I am totally in support of the views espoused but-ouch!
